2 bbl install not running correctly
Quote from jeremyg on August 13, 2019, 1:45 pmA few months ago I purchased the 2bbl set up with the inline pump. Installed it on a 1978 E150 with a 351 and it ran great! I put about 100 miles on it over the next couple of months (don't drive it much). One day I went to drive it and when it started the idle was lower than normal and it had no power at all. When you try to rev it up struggles and pops out of the tail pipes. It is running very rich( black smoke out of exhaust). I have done full tune up ( plugs, wires, cap, rotor, distributor, coil, and ignition module). Nothing seemed to make a difference. I have searched for vacuum leaks, fuel leaks, checked fuel filter, installed fuel pressure gauge and I cannot seem to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached pictures of the handheld with it running in case that helps.

Quote from bdhulderman on August 13, 2019, 3:12 pmJust some thoughts. Had it been quite awhile since you started it last? If so, the battery may not be putting out enough voltage while cranking, which I have found will cause the fitech not to initialize correctly and run terrible. I then cleaned the plugs and charged the battery fully, and it ran fine.

I don't know for sure what it is but could be a code for the electric fan control. Check to see if you have it set to control an electric fan but are not using one. IAC counts are really high like maxed out and your AFR learn and Trim are in the positives, so it is adding fuel to try and maintain your AFR at idle of 13.34. which makes sense since your IAC is wide open letting more air in. Coolant Temp is still too cold.
Check your Idle AFR setting, I would try leaning it out a bit and see what that does to your vacuum. Get it up to temp. 170+ then check your IAC counts to see if they are in the 3 to 10 range, adjust as necessary. Double check your timing.
Also a log file would help us to help you. Dropbox is the place to put the file and link it here.
Cheers
