Quote from Deleted user on June 25, 2018, 8:03 pmThe Fitech needs a tach signal when it is used without timing control. The Blue wire. Look for a tagged post about it in the ignition section. This setup is very vulnerable to interference. It can be anything from other wiring, distributor, module, module, alternator, plugs, plug wires, etc. Sometimes it is intermittent. Can be a pain to diagnose. When the Fitech get a bad signal "RPM noise fault", it goes into open loop mode and runs like crap, if at all.
With timing control, all that is out of the picture. The blue wire is not used and a 2 wire magnetic pickup is used. Fitech makes this out to be complicated, but I can show you a simple reliable way. With minimal cost.
With proper install and tuning, you can have the reliability and economy of a modern vehicle. You will have full control of your timing control from your handheld, on the fly. Take my truck for an example. It is a 67 c10 daily driver. I put hundreds of miles on it weekly. 350 with a 700r4 and 3.08 gears. Approximately 370hp at crank. On e85 I get 13.6mpg on the highway. As you probably know, e85 get 30% less economy than Unleaded. So you could figure I would be getting about 19mpg on gasoline.

Truck came to me with a 25gal tank.....LOL
I installed a new 34 gal with new pump and a.bypass regulator for carburetor which is givng me all kinds of issues.
I ordered the Aeromotive pump like you suggested and sent back the command center as soon as the ups driver handed it to me,Just need to order a throttle body.
