Data Logging quit working
Quote from svGalene on April 23, 2019, 7:01 pmI have a Go EFI 4 unit that has recently been updated to T198i 30001_02 20170510.hex
A few days ago (while waiting for my new coolant temp sensor to arrive) I created and viewed a couple of log files. After I viewed the files I deleted them from the handheld. Now that my temp sensor is reading correct values I'd like to do some more logging and start changing some settings... but I can't get get data logging to work anymore. Anytime I try to do a data log (dashboard or basic sensors) it creates a couple of empty files in the \log_file\ folder. The \Basic Sensors\ and \DashBoard\ folders remain empty.
The files it creates are as follows:
\log_file\Basic SensorsBasic Sensors1.csv 0 kb
\log_file\Basic SensorsBasic Sensors1.csvBasic Sensors1.csv 0 kb
\log_file\DashBoardDashBoard1.csv 0 kb
\log_file\DashBoardDashBoard1.csvDashBoard1.csv 0 kb
Have y'all seen this before? Anybody have any idea how I can get this silly thing to actually create some data logs that I can read?

Quote from Rich on April 23, 2019, 7:13 pmMy original handheld did this from the get go. I thought it was me, but I contacted FiTech at the number on their website and they sent one out that day, no charge. The kicker is that it came on the car I bought so I never purchased a FiTech directly. Don't really know how old the unit is, but I showed them a bill of sale for the car and they didn't ask anything further. I bet it's because this is a common problem. Still have the old one as well (it seemed to work except for data logging). They were really good to work with on the issue.

Quote from Rich on April 23, 2019, 7:17 pmJust thought of something else that Austin may be able to clear up. The Pro Cal PC software might be able to record data, as well, even if the handheld won't. Not sure about this as I just installed it and haven't connected to the ECU. You have to connect your PC through the handheld, but it might not require the handheld to accomplish the data logging.

Quote from Deleted user on April 23, 2019, 7:39 pmThis is a little issue we figured out while ago. When you delete the datalogs you need to delete entire dashboard file. In your case just move it to a safe place on your PC and then try to get the handheld to log.

Quote from svGalene on April 23, 2019, 8:12 pmYep, delete those empty folders and logging works just fine (again).
Thanks!

Do you still have the old one? Interested in selling it? I've misplaced mine, and fear it may be gone forever. Just not in the mood to part with $100 for a new one.
