engine fires then stalls
Quote from phil302 on February 15, 2019, 7:52 pmi am having trouble with an engine start issue hot or cold, the engine fires then stalls straight away. after doing this several times the only way i have found it will start is to hold the throttle fully open. i have checked voltage to the white wire. it is 12 with ignition on and drops to about 9-10 while cranking.

All my installs get new battery cables. The negative cable goes to the engine then I run a 10 gauge wire from battery to chassis and one from battery to body. This has never failed me.

Quote from phil302 on February 26, 2019, 4:55 amI fitted a wire to earth the throttle body, replaced spark plugs and have fitted a temporary splice into the white direct to the battery. Turned off the prime shot also. It starting a little easier but still requires the throttle open to start. Then takes a while to idle clean.

Have you opened the throttle with the idle screw? This is one of the few things Fitech provides for instructions. This is the very first step of tuning the system. Next is setting the IAC step at idle and at temp.
A little rich idle at start up is something we can get to after. Do the steps in the right order and you will have a great experience....

Quote from phil302 on March 1, 2019, 6:33 pmi have just finished fitting a relay to the white wire feed to be sure of a clean voltage and have been trying to set the iac to about 15. seems every time i try it jumps from about 3 to 30 with the slightest turn out with the screw. the procedure i am using is get the car to operating temp then turn engine off, turn front screw in half a turn, re-start engine and watch tps is reading 0, then start turning throttle screw out and turning engine off to let the unit power down to reset between every adjustment.
