Go street keeps getting stuck in “crank” run state
Quote from orch on October 31, 2018, 12:07 pmhi there if anyone could help me out that would be great.
i have a Go street 400 on a small block 350 in a Jeep Yj. Bought the vehicle third hand so I’m not sure of the cam specs but I’m thinking it’s pretty mild, vacuume is about 15 at idle. Installed the fitech about a year ago with the fuel command center after playing around with it and doing lots of reading on the fitech website, YouTube etc and playing with the settings I can get it to run how I like it but it has always had an issue with getting stuck in “crank” run state after about 100 miles of driving or so. The iac will ramp up to 225, AFR will drop to 11-12 and will flood the engine and stall. Doesn’t matter how much rpm or throttle I give it will still say it’s in crank run state. If I try and restart it it will just flood and stall. Only thing that will rectify the problem is resetting the ecu. Then it will run fine for another 100 miles or so then do the same thing. I went through the iac set up on warm idle and it is between 3-10. It must be something that it is learning but I’m stumped as to what settings I should look at changing. It seems to happen frequently if I am doing a lot of stopping and restarting the engine and is worse in warm weather. So far I just reset the ecu every time I fuel up but that is a pain in the butt and kind of makes me think I should just go back to the carb.
Recently a new problem has popped up, doesn’t want to start cold and has a hard time idling, once it does warm up the iac is all out of whack on idle and I have to fiddle with the throttle adjustment screw settings to get the iac back between 3-10 then if I drive it for a bit the iac goes out of whack on idle again and I get fault code 53 on the dash board and p0505 on the main fault code and is saying iac issue in the comments column... I’m hoping this doesn’t mean I have to send back the whole unit. Can the iac stepper motor be replaced without taking the unit off if it is the iac motor? Could the iac get dirty and just meet cleaning?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated...
i have sent an email to fitech about it but I’m not holding my breath on it... I tried emailing them a couple times in the past and never got a response and tried phoning the tech support line and spent 30min on hold on a long distance call And gave up....
thanks

I've already replaced the temp sensor, TPS sensor, and just recently the IAC stepper, and now it seems to be running great! Yes, the IAC you can replace from the outside. The TPS is harder to replace, but it doesn't sound like that is the problem for you. On my meanstreet the IAC stepper is in the back with a 90 deg connector on it. Just a couple of allen screws takes it out and bring it into the auto parts house with you so you make sure you get the right one. At Oriely's they had to pull out 3 of them until I found the right one. Hope that helps.

tried replacing the tps sensor but the one the parts supply store gave me is backwards (spingloaded in the opposite direction of the stock one) so never put it on....
it still screws up about every 100 miles or so and I have to reset the the settings by writing a known good settings file to the ecu then it runs okay till it relearns whatever is telling it to flood the engine and get stuck in “crank” run state...
Maldonado can’t get it to settle on a proper idle screw setting which is frustrating as hell...
