Go into the Software Update Topic and send the email to request the software for your system.

Will do, thanks

G'day Austin.

I received the new software update and it all appears to have uploaded successfully. I haven't run the car yet as it getting on in the evening here so that'll have to wait until tomorrow  but I have to say it's a very comprehensive update.. There are dozens more adjustable parameters than I had on my old software.  This should make it much easier to tune. (or make it much easier for me to balls it up) 🙂

Cheers again for your help.  I'll let you know how I get on.

G'day Austin.. I've sent you a log via email. Now that I've got the new software upgrade the system is behaving a lot better.

Please let me know if you'd like me to do another log under different conditions.

G'day Austin.

I sent another Log File, this time of the car idling for approx 30 seconds at operating temp. (a bit above actually 190F)

I've made the changes you suggested based on my last log file. I've reset the Fuel Learn, changed back to Cam 2. I've even lowered the CID from 206 to 166 to try and get it to reduce fuel across the board. The car drives ok under normal driving conditions but is still going massively rich and bogging down under acceleration.  AFR's still into the low 10's and will not take quick throttle openings at all. (same situation as it has always been)

I note though that even with these changes and the CID reduced the fuel learn is still very high (in the negatives) its hovering around the high 20's to low 30's even at idle. Not sure why this should be.

Can you offer any further suggestions?

Cheers

Getting a little confused trying to keep up with your email and posts.  Need to keep it all on the website.

Looked at your log.  I don't like the numbers when compared to the changes you made.  The bog is the least of my worries right now.

IAC steps are high. Fuel learn is nearly maxed to the negative.  Vacuum is now down in the cam 3 area.

Do this for me.  Reload the 6 cylinder default file.  Set cam 2 and 206 did.  Let it idle and learn a little.  Let's see what the data looks like then.

Posting Datalog to website.  Use Dropbox.  Copy file to dropbox, click on 3 dots at the right of file name, click share.  At bottom of share window, click create link, then save link to Clipboard.  Paste link to new reply on this thread.

No worries I'll give that a go. Sorry about spamming you with emails. I'll use dropbox from now on.

Cheers

No worries.  I work with several guys everyday.  Trying to keep it all straight in my head is a challenge, so when it is email and website it all goes to hell.  Plus the more info on the site the more it may help the next guy.

Yeah no worries.

Another quick question on the self learning. How long should I give the system to adapt to new changes in parameters.

Usually when I change something I'll either do it on the fly whilst driving or I'll make a change and then take it for a drive to get it up to temp and allow it to adjust.  However how many Klms/Miles is a reasonable amount to give the system a chance to adapt?

Neil

Depends on the changes. AFR targets is what the system is learning towards.  Your goal is to see smaller and smaller AFR trims.  When you mostly see trims of less than +/-10, you are doing pretty good.

Of course everything affects the learn.  Air Temp, Humidity, Barometric Pressure, Fuel Quality, etc.  The beauty of this system is it is I always tweaking to hit that target.
