BASIC INFO FOR A NEWB LOL

PreviousPage 2 of 2

If your just using a factory style fuel pump, the power is already on a relay. The 2 relays on the fuse block are ecu power and fuel pump. As for the IAT, mine too is mounted in the EVAP hole. Counter sunk to protrude minimally into the plenum.

Hey Kurtoid,

Jeez I did not even think of the evap hole must have been day dreaming on that one (Also missed Kire1984's response about the evap hole really slipping here) LoL I will use it for the IAT did you guys use the threaded IAT (same as in my pic) or the push in style??? I am running a Holley Sniper efi tank part #19143 pretty sure this is the pump in the tank:

255 LPH GPA Series Fuel Pump Assembly

Replacement 255 LPH FUEL PUMP AND HANGER ASSEMBLY

I apologize I missed some responses! I really need to quit using my phone and get on my computer it would be much easier 🙂 I really appreciate all the help. Just stoked to get it going this car has not moved in years.

Thanks Craig

I used the push in style with some high temp silicone for the iat

Thanks Kire1984

That is the one I ended up using :).

I think I am going to hook up the 2 power leads to the starter as per Fitech’s install sheet and the 2 grounds one to each back of the cylinder head and use the fuel pump wire off the Fitech unit as I am not running anything to extreme. Thoughts?

Looks good omega.

On the other stuff I'm sure that will work just fine I put the 2 powers on a junction block but your way is probably cleaner and out of sight.  I put the grounds 1 on each head. And just make sure all engine to frame grounds are clean . I had an issue because of bad grounds.

Ok Guys,

Hopefully the last of my questions for the 70051 FiTech install. So my original power wire off the fuse block that went to the original batt stud on the 63 amp alternator for my 74 Omega (aka Nova) will it suffice for the battery stud on the 105 amp 5.3 Alternator?

The 2 fan wires from the FiTech I ran one to one relay and one to another will this suffice or should it be ran to 3 relays? And anyone have a diagram of what I should run? I am only running one battery.

The brake switch wire what about it? Where does it go as the instructions do not say anything. I have a 2 pin brake switch.

Anything else I may be missing???????

Again hopefully the last of my questions, I am hoping to get the battery in the car before I hook up the powers/grounds for the FiTech unit and make sure there is no magic smoke in the cars original harnesses as I added and removed what I thought I would not need. Once I know I am good there I will unhook the battery and then hook up the power/grounds on the FiTech unit. I will then have the exhaust to button up  before start up. Hoping all goes well as I only work on it on the weekends when the back is permitting. So a few hours here and there and hopefully missed no steps 🙂

I apologize for all the questions and the lame ones at that,  just trying to be precise as possible so I have no issues. Sorry if I messed up the message I am multitasking.

So again any and all tips are welcome and help is always appreciated. Thanks again in advance!!
